Brickhouse Cafe And Bar Review
I have not been going out much for past few months, and the times I go out I tend to visit my favorite places instead of trying new ones. Finally I visited Brickhouse All day cafe and bar last Sunday to try out their new Brunch menu.It is a dainty little cafe located in a corner at the beginning of lokhandwala market. The interiors are quite rustic and fun. It has both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. Frankly I did not expect the place to be crowded specially at the afternoon hours but I was wrong. Most of the tables were full.
Coming to the brunch menu – it is a carefully planned 4 course menu consisting of small sides, omelettes & Eggs to order, salads and mains along unlimited beer and sangria.Brunch and beer sounds so nice together :P. Personally I found the menu options a little skewed towards non vegetarians, there were very few vegetarian options specially in mains much to the dismay of my husband who is an eggetarian.
Our four course meal began with linguini & shirmp in chilli olive oil and rosemary potatoes and yam. The linguini and shirmp dish was amazing, one of the best I have ever had. The spice was on the higher side, which most Indian palattes would not mind and the shirmp was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were simple yet delicious.
This was followed by some pancakes with banana. The pancakes were well cooked and maple syrup makes everything yumm 😛 Next were the salads – Ceaser Salad and Macaroni and cheese. The macroni and cheese dish was sublime, it had the perfect blend of various cheeses. Ceaser salad was okayish, you may try the other options in this section. Last we tried chicken burger and margerita pizza (its the only vegie option in this section). The pizza was decent but the chicken burger was the biggest disappointment of the whole meal. the chicken patty was a bit salty and with fried egg, cheese and buttered buns on top of it made the burger just too salty.
Overall this place has a nice ambiance and good food (well mostly) The shirmp dish was amazing, mac and cheese was very good too, the only disappointment was the burger. The portions are pretty good, three courses down I was pretty full. I had a great time and would love to visit it again soon.
