Tutorial : Gold And Purple Party Eye Make Up

With Christmas and New Year’s around the corner, I have been trying different types of eye make up which would go not only with my outfits but also with my eye colour. Recently I came up with this vibrant gold and purple party eye make up , infact here in India , the wedding season is in full swing too, so this make up will go well with your sarees and salwar kameezes too. So in just 8 steps get this perfect party eye make up look.

Step 1 : Place a piece of tape at the corner of the eye. The piece of tape should extend from the corner of your eye toward the end of your eyebrow. It will act as a guide.

Step 2 : Add a gold eye shadow ( I have used Maybelline Color Tatto Bold Gold here) on the inner half of the lid.

Step 3 : Apply purple eye shadow ( I have used a purple shade from my elf eyeshadow palette)  on the outer corner of the eyes. Using a blending brush, blend the colours and make sure there are no harsh edges.

Step 4 : Add depth to the eyes by applying a matte black eye shadow ( I have used a matte black shade from my elf eyeshadow palette) to the outer corner of the eyes. Blend it in an upward motion for an eye lifting effect.

Step 5 : Define the  lower lashline by the same black eyeshadow (used in step 4) going half way in, then continue with the purple eyeshadow in the center and gold on the inner corner of your eyes.

Step 6 : Apply  kohl on the lower waterline (but it should not be too dark) and apply a black liquid liner on the upper lash line.Use a white eye shadow to highlight the brow bone, you can apply the same eye shadow on the inner corner of your eyes too.

Step 7 : Finish off the eye make up by applying a coat of mascara.

Step 8 : Clean up the fallouts !! And your gold and purple party eye make up is done.

  1. This is a great tutorial. I am in search for golden eye shadow. Is the one from Maybelline Color Tattoo good. Would you recommend something?

    • Thanks Jhilmil, I have used Maybelline Color Tattoo Bold Gold in the tutorial, I like this eyeshadow but the only issue I face is that it dries very quickly hence a little difficult to blend other than that its great. If you don’t have a budget constraint you can try MAC golden haze.
