Restaurant Review : Corniche At The Waterfront
I stumbled across this place on zomato and seeing some great reviews decided to give it a try last week.I love places which has a beautiful and romantic feel to it and Corniche fits into that description pretty well. The ambiance of this place is lovely, rustic yet romantic. Located on the carter road right on the promenade it has a beautiful sea view. I am sure if you visit it in the evening pre sunset, this place will look even more beautiful.I love the way it has dainty wooden chairs and table with a candle lit in the center – perfect for a romantic date.
Coming to the food, corniche is famous for its Mediterranean and Italian food. We ordered falafel with hummus to begin with along with some mocktails (off alcohol for the month :p). The falafel came in pita pockets with a generous helping of hummus along with some green salad.Overall was quite impressed with the taste of the dish and it looked great too. Falafel was followed by some mushroom rissotto with feta and paneer tikka pizza. The mushroom risotto was creamy and yumm but the best dish of the night was definitely the pizza, it has a great tangy taste to it which is quite pleasing to the Indian palette
The service was good, food came to our table quickly and the staff was very courteous. As far as pinch to the pocket is concerned, a meal for two would cost around Rs. 1600 – Rs. 2000 which is quite decent considering the quality and the quantity of the food.Overall I had a fun time at this place, the ambiance was nice and the food was delicious, definitely coming back !!!
