Restaurant Review : Jam Jar Diner, Versova
I did not even know this place existed, till I saw this tiny little door with a small hanging sign reading JamJar Diner , on my way to another cafe. So I decided to ditch my pre determined place and decided to try JamJar Diner out. Well, thankfully the interiors of the restaurant is not as tiny as the outer appearance is. The decor is quite fun and retro. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is quite dimly lit and has a very cozy feel to it.
They serve Mexican, American and Italian cuisine, we ordered some chedder chili bites , Mac and cheese along with Mojito. The chedder chili bites were really good and the sweet chilly mayo they were served with enhanced the taste even further. Definitely one of the must have dishes at this place. The mac and cheese however was a little disappointing, it lacked seasoning and I do not think my palette is sophisticated enough to have saltless food yet. The flavors of the mac and cheese were pretty good , only if it had some more salt, the dish would taste much better. The mojito was pretty good and refreshing. Now, I loved the way they serve their drinks – in a mason jar. It looks super cute.
The service was decent, food came in quickly and the staff was quite attentive. As far as pinch on the pocket is concerned, a meal for two would cost around Rs 1200 – Rs 1500.Overall JamJar Diner is a quaint little place with a great ambiance, decor and decent food. I would love to try more dishes from their menu. specially the desserts about which I have read great reviews. I quite liked this place and would definitely visit it again 🙂
